GMA Fuses - Fast Blow

(Sold in packs of five fuses.
20mm long x 5mm diameter)

GMA fuses are smaller European fuses, fast blow, 5mm diameter x 20mm long.   Measure your old fuse.  In English dimensions, they are about 3/16 inches x 3/4 inches.  Sold in packs of 5 fuses.  Choose amperage value in Options.

GDC Fuses - Slow Blow

(Sold in packs of five fuses.
20mm long x 5mm diameter)

GDC fuses are smaller European fuses, slow blow, 5mm diameter x 20mm long.   Measure your old fuse.  In English dimensions, they are about 3/16 inches x 3/4 inches.  GDC fuses are sometimes listed as 5 x 20 fuses, or "T" fuses, such as T1A.  GDC fuses are the same physical size as GMA fuses, except that they are "slow blow", or "time delay".  The GDC fuses are engineered to withstand normal surge current without blowing needlessly.   During steady-state operation, they protect to the same value as fast-blow fuses.  Sold in packs of 5 fuses.  Choose amperage value in Options.

AGC Fuses - Fast Blow

(Sold in packs of five fuses.
1 1/4" long x 1/4" diameter)

AGC fuses are larger American fuses, fast blow, 1/4" diameter x 1-1/4" long.   Measure your old fuse.   AGC fuses are sometimes listed as 3AG fuses.   In metric dimensions, they are 6.3mm x 31.75mm (or 6 x 32 for short).  Sold in packs of 5 fuses.  Choose amperage value in Options.

MDL Fuses - Slow Blow

(Sold in packs of five fuses.
1 1/4" long x 1/4" diameter.  Same as the MDL1 fuse)

MDL fuses are larger American fuses, slow blow, 1/4" diameter x 1 1/4" long, the same size as AGC fuses.   Measure your old fuse.  Slow Blow (also called Time Delay) fuses are engineered to withstand normal surge current without blowing needlessly.   During steady-state operation, they protect to the same value as fast-blow fuses.    In metric dimensions, they are 6.3mm x 31.75mm (or 6 x 32 for short).  Sold in packs of 5 fuses.  Choose amperage value in Options.

5 OHM NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) type Thermistor. As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases and is used for over current inrush protection. It is installed in series in a circuit, usually in series with incoming AC power.   This thermistor is rated for 3A maximum current, and is 8mm in diameter.   At room temperature with no current, its resistance is 5 ohms.  At full rated current, its resistance drops to 0.26 ohms.    It offers a small series resistance to the power transformer when current is first applied, and then quickly drops its resistance as current picks up for normal operation.   By limiting inrush current, it protects the transformer and other components in the power supply at turn-on.   This thermistor should only be used on amps which have a 3 amp fuse or less.   Download data sheet here.

10 OHM, 5A NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) type Thermistor.   Fender part number 028503.    Used in many Fender amp models since the 1990s.  Also used in some Mesa Boogie amps.  It is installed in series in a circuit between the transformer and incoming AC power.   This thermistor is rated for 5A maximum current, and is 19mm in diameter.   By limiting inrush current, it protects the transformer and other components in the power supply at turn-on.   This thermistor should only be used on amps which have a 5 amp fuse or less.   Download data sheet here.
